As an Employment Attorney at Fairgrieve Law Office, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging employment issues to help clients navigate the complexities of California law.

For this part-time position, we offer a competitive hourly salary of $120 - $140 hourly ($86,000-$100,000 annually). There is potential to transition into a full-time role.

Responsibilities

  • The opening is for a part-time associate position, to work approximately 15 hours per week.

  • The associate will be responsible for advising and representing companies in employment law matters.

  • The attorney will counsel and advise clients to implement proactive best practices, reduce risk and ensure compliance in handling employment situations, and respond to questions. Often inquiries are time-sensitive.

  • The attorney will represent clients in matters before agencies such as the Labor Commissioner’s Office and the Department of Civil Rights.

  • The attorney will represent employers in litigation matters.

  • The attorney will advise on and draft workplace policies and handbooks.

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.

  • Our ideal attorney has deep and thorough knowledge of California employment law and is experienced in independently advising employers regarding employment law compliance.

  • The attorney has performed this work for 7 to 9 years or has commensurate experience in advising California businesses.

  • The attorney must have strong litigation skills.

  • Skills and experience are important and valued, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations.

  • We are growing, and you will likely be called upon to wear many hats.
